Title: INERTIA?
Author: kalpande
Date of article: 2009(published).
Obtain: from science book of physics.
Submitted By: Nishadh, R.
Summary:
What is inertia? . Inertia is nothing but the kind of catagorized part of force. Inertia described as the manager of the motion of any object or the ability of force to change the motion of object. For example if anyone keeps a plate on a table, and there is no one there to pick up or to do something motion with it. So basically the plate will remain stable, motionless in other words any object continous its motion(whether it is uniform motion or not) unless the externel force acts on it. These was the example of stable motion but in space is any object thrown or push it will not stop moving infact nothing can stop itself from moving. And if you start walking in space it is almost impossible to stop yourself from moving unless other force acts to stop yourself (like something holds you from moving). But this does not happen on earth that because inertia decides the behavior i.e. in earth the force like gravity acts on object to stop it .

Submitted by: Corinne H.

Did you know the wide your smile the longer you live? A researcher led by Ernest Abel looked at over 200 photos of major league baseball players who started playing before 1950 and grouped them according to their smiles. There were three groups, no smile, partial smile and full smile. The no smile category lived for 72.9 years, the people who partly smiled died at 75. The people who did have a bright big smile lived till 79.9 years old, 7 years longer than the no smile people! The study says that the size of the smile reflects an underlying emotional character. The experiment proved that emotions have a positive affect with mental health physical health and long life.

Title: Killer Whales Don't Usually kill people
Author: Jeanna Bryner
Date: 24 February 2010 05:41 pm ET

Submitted by: Min Jeong Kang

Summary: This article is about ' killer whales don't usually kill people'. There was a news of trainer being killed by a killer whale at SeaWorld Orlando. it doesn't change the fact that these giants don't kill human at sea. Nancy Black who is a marine biologist with Monterey Bay Whale Watch said “They have never killed a human in the wild." That's mostly because, unlike sharks, killer whales don't frequent near`shore areas where people swim. SeaWorld officials contacted by LiveScience said they could not comment on the incident yet. According to news reports, the orca drowned its female trainer as tourists watched in horror. Black told LiveScience that she thinks the killer whale may have wanted a social companion and just held her under too long and she added that killer whales don't have to come up for air as often as human might and could hold someone underwater for 15 ~ 20 minutes. Killer whales are very intelligent and playful animals. They are big, growing to 32 feet (nearly 10 meters) and weigh a whopping 18,000 pounds . killer whales have few enemies, vulnerable only to large sharks.
